How to image the Clouds of Venus

Not many features can be seen on planet Venus due to its thick cloud layer. However, one feature that can sometimes be seen is the structure of Venus's clouds.

First of all this video will discuss how to find Venus in the night sky and then how you can go about capturing its clouds using astrophotography.

What equipment do you need to see the Clouds of Venus?

To capture the Clouds of Venus you need a long focal length telescope, a tracking mount and an astronomy camera.

Additional Equipment

A violet Wratten number 47 is required along with an infrared blocking filter to capture Venus’s cloud features.
