Orion is a highly recognisable constellation due to it being bright and resembling a person. As it is located on the celestial equator Orion is visible throughout the world.
This constellation contains Rigel, which is a very bright star equal to approximatley 60,000 of our suns. In fact if Rigel was as close to us as Sirius it would be one-fith as bright as the full moon!
